How we handle your information

Plain English, no fine print. If anything below isn’t clear, email info@imperiatech.us with “Privacy” in the subject and we’ll explain.

Last updated: 21 May 2026

The short version

We collect contact information when you reach out, and we use it to design and deliver smart home systems for you. We don’t sell your data. We use common services (analytics, advertising, a form provider) that have their own privacy practices.

If you want us to delete what we have about you, email info@imperiatech.us. We’ll do it within 30 days.

What we collect

When you contact us through this site, we typically collect:

  • Your name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • The service you’re interested in
  • Details of your project — rooms, goals, timeline, any existing systems
  • Your home address (once we schedule a consultation or an in-home visit)

We also collect some technical information automatically when you visit the site:

  • IP address and approximate location
  • Browser type, device type, and operating system
  • Which pages you visit and how long you stay
  • Where you came from (referring website or ad)

This technical data comes from cookies and analytics tools, covered below.

How we use it

To do our job: respond to your inquiry, schedule a consultation, design and propose a system, coordinate with you during the project, and provide ongoing support after the install.

To run our business: understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it, comply with legal requirements, and protect against fraud and abuse.

For marketing — only with your consent: send occasional emails about new services or relevant projects (every email includes an unsubscribe link). Show you relevant ads on other sites if you’ve visited ours; you can opt out via the ad platforms (see below).

Who we share it with

We share data only with the services that help us run the business:

  • Our form provider — receives the data you submit in the contact form
  • Email and CRM tools — handle our correspondence with you
  • Google Analytics — helps us understand how visitors use the site
  • Google Ads and Meta (Facebook/Instagram) — help us run advertising and measure its effectiveness; they receive pseudonymous behavioral data via tracking pixels
  • Subcontractors who are directly working on your project — only the information they need to do their part of the work
  • Legal authorities — only when legally required

We do not:

  • Sell your personal data to third parties
  • Share your contact details with unrelated companies for their own marketing
  • Use your data for purposes you didn’t agree to

Cookies and tracking technologies

We use three categories of cookies and similar technologies:

  • Essential cookies — required for the site to work. You can’t disable these without breaking the site.
  • Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) — help us understand traffic patterns. You can opt out via your browser settings, the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, or by setting a “Do Not Track” header (which we honor).
  • Advertising cookies (Meta Pixel, Google Ads tags) — help us measure ad performance and show relevant ads. You can opt out via Google Ads settings and Meta ad preferences.

How long we keep your information

We keep inquiry data for as long as you’re considering or actively working with us, plus five years after for warranty and service records. Marketing email subscribers stay on our list until you unsubscribe.

If you ask us to delete your data, we will — within 30 days, unless we’re legally required to keep certain records (like tax records on completed projects).

Your rights and choices

Wherever you live, you can:

  • Ask what data we have about you — we’ll send a copy
  • Ask us to correct anything that’s wrong
  • Ask us to delete your data (within legal limits)
  • Opt out of marketing emails — every email has an unsubscribe link
  • Opt out of personalized ads — see the links in “Cookies and tracking,” above

To exercise any of these rights, email info@imperiatech.us with “Privacy request” in the subject. We respond within 30 days.

California residents

If you live in California, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):

  • The right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose
  • The right to delete your personal information (with limited exceptions)
  • The right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your information — we do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising outside of the standard ad-pixel arrangements disclosed above
  • The right to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights

To exercise CCPA rights, email info@imperiatech.us with “California privacy request” in the subject.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect data from them. If you’re a parent and you believe your child has submitted information to us, email info@imperiatech.us and we’ll delete it.

Data security

We protect your data with reasonable physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards. The site is served over HTTPS. The vendors we work with (form provider, analytics, email, advertising) maintain their own security practices. No system is 100 percent secure, but we take this seriously.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent version. Significant changes (such as adding a new data-sharing partner) will be highlighted at the top of the page for at least 30 days.
