Refined technology, effortless living
Whole-home automation that blends technology with the architecture — quietly managing lighting, climate, shades, security, and AV from one unified interface. Purpose-built for refined Chicago-area homes.
Your home responds without interrupting the moment
With a tap, a voice command, or entirely on its own, your home anticipates your needs.
Your lights dim as the sun sets, your shades adjust with the time of day, your favorite playlist follows you between rooms, and your security system stands watch — all working in harmony without you lifting a finger. This is more than convenience. It’s a smarter, quieter way to live.
“Alexa may be everywhere, but it’s not everything”
In the homes we design, control is deeper, smarter, and far more refined. No patchwork apps. No shouting across the room. No clunky workarounds.
Easy to use. From anywhere.
Your home’s systems live in one intuitive interface — on the wall, in your hand, or entirely out of sight. Check the front gate from the airport. Close every shade with a single tap. Run a favorite scene by name, even when you’re not there.
Better yet, you shouldn’t have to. The best systems mostly run themselves.
Common questions about home automation
What's the difference between a smart home and home automation?
They overlap, but here's how we think about it. A “smart home” is a collection of connected devices — thermostats, locks, lights — usually controlled by separate apps. Home automation is what we design: those devices working together through one unified system. The difference is whether you have a pile of gadgets or a system that behaves like a single home.
What happens if my internet goes out?
For most of the system, nothing changes. We prefer devices that operate locally — meaning they talk directly to each other over your home network, not through a cloud server somewhere. No internet required to turn on the lights, run a scene, or adjust your shades.
Not every device on the market supports local control, but it’s one of our criteria when we spec gear. The goal is a system that stays functional and stable even when your connection drops — because a smart home that stops working the moment your ISP has a bad day isn’t a very smart home.
Do I need to commit to a single brand for everything?
No. The whole point of a well-built control system is to support as many devices and brands as possible — and modern systems do this very well. You’re not locked into a single manufacturer’s ecosystem.
Where it gets nuanced is on the consumer device side: some products integrate cleanly and reliably, others are more trouble than they’re worth. We’ll walk you through those tradeoffs as we design your system. Or if you’d rather not think about it at all, just tell us what you want the system to do — and we’ll handle the equipment selection. Either way, you end up with a system that works the way you expected it to — and that’s exactly what we’re here for.
